AI Studio Setup

MartX's AI features are bring-your-own-key — no API key ships with the product, and no request is ever sent to any provider until you configure one.

  1. Choose a provider

    Go to Admin → Settings → AI Studio. Pick one (or more) of: OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, or Fireworks.

  2. Enter your API key

    Paste the key you generated from that provider's own dashboard, then use the Live Fetch Models button to verify the key and load the model list.

  3. Enable the features you want

    Toggle individual features on: AI content generation buttons (product/category/brand/page copy, SEO meta), the storefront chat widget, and smart search.

  4. Build your knowledge base (optional)

    Add articles under Automation → AI Assistant → Knowledge Base so the storefront chat widget can answer store-specific questions accurately.

API usage is billed by your chosen provider directly, based on your own account — MartX does not mark up or resell AI usage.

Payment Gateways

Configure gateways at Admin → Settings → Payments. Each gateway has its own on/off switch — only enabled gateways appear at checkout.

Secret keys and passwords are encrypted at rest in the database, not stored in plain text.

Shipping & Tax

Shipping rates

Under Admin → Selling Rules → Shipping Rates, define weight-based shipping tiers. The checkout calculates shipping cost automatically from the combined weight of the cart.

Tax rates

Under Admin → Selling Rules → Tax Rates, define tax percentages per country and, optionally, per state/region. The default rate and behavior can be adjusted in Settings.

Storefront & Home Page Builder

The included Default theme is a Tailwind CSS storefront with Alpine.js and Vue-powered interactive components (cart drawer, wishlist, quick view, smart search).

Home Page Builder

Under Admin → Storefront → Home Page, build your homepage from drag-and-drop widgets — no code required:

  • Slider — hero banner carousel (managed separately under Storefront → Sliders, 7 visual styles)

  • Category grid — a browsable grid of your top-level categories

  • Product carousel — featured, new arrivals, best sellers, by category, by brand, or discounted items

  • Brands — a strip of featured brand logos

  • Flash sale — a countdown-style promoted collection

  • Image banners — up to three custom promotional images

  • Newsletter — an email capture section wired to your subscriber list

Navigation menus (header, header-top bar, footer) are managed independently under Storefront → Navigation with a visual builder supporting icons and multi-level dropdowns.
